Family-Friendly Villas in Marbella

What to look for, and villas that get it right

By Live Love Marbella · Updated 18 October 2026

A villa is often the easiest way to holiday with children in Marbella: your own pool, room to spread out, and meals when the family wants them rather than when the restaurant opens.

This guide covers what makes a family-friendly villa in Marbella, from pool safety to games rooms, and the villas we suggest most often to families. To see every home we offer, browse our Marbella villa collection.

What to check

What makes a villa family-friendly

The photos sell the view, but families should ask about the details.

The pool

Ask whether the pool can be fenced or has an alarm or cover, whether there is a shallow section or steps, and whether it is heated in spring and autumn. Shade near the water matters in July and August.

The house

Check stairs, balconies and terrace heights, and how many bedrooms are on the same floor. A lift helps with buggies and grandparents.

The garden and extras

Flat lawn for games, a play area, and a games or cinema room for the hot hours after lunch make long stays easier.

Kit on arrival

Ask for cots, high chairs and stair gates before you travel, and child seats for the airport transfer.

Where to stay

The best areas for families

Nueva Andalucía has plenty of villas with gardens, close to Puerto Banús and the golf courses. Guadalmina is quieter and greener, and the Golden Mile puts you between the town and the port. Our neighbourhoods guide compares them in detail.

Days out

Making the most of it

Mix pool days at the villa with a beach morning and an early dinner in town. For ideas, see our things to do in Marbella, and book a private chef for a relaxed family dinner at home.

Insider tips

Tips for a family villa stay

  • Ask about pool safety first. Fences, alarms or covers vary from villa to villa.
  • Book child seats with the transfer. Tell us ages and weights in advance.
  • Choose bedrooms on one floor. Especially with small children.
  • Plan the hot hours. A games or cinema room helps after lunch in summer.
  • Book the chef early. A private chef for the first night saves a supermarket run.
