Nueva Andalucía Guide

Golf Valley living, restaurants and villas

By Live Love Marbella · Updated 18 October 2026

Behind Puerto Banús, the land rises into a green valley of fairways, gardens and white villas with La Concha mountain behind. This is Nueva Andalucía, one of Marbella’s favourite places to live and to rent a villa.

Our Nueva Andalucía guide covers the Golf Valley and its history, where to eat and swim, the Saturday market and the villas we arrange most often.

The story

From José Banús’s plan to the Golf Valley

Nueva Andalucía grew from the same vision as the marina. In 1968 developer José Banús founded the golf club that is now Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, then called Club de Golf Nueva Andalucía, and it was inaugurated in 1970 together with Puerto Banús.

Read the port’s side of the story in our Puerto Banús guide.

Golf in Nueva Andalucía

The valley’s nickname comes from its courses, several of them by famous designers.

Real Club de Golf Las Brisas

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, with landscaping by Gerald Huggan that turned it into an arboretum. It hosted the Spanish Open in 1970 and the World Cup in 1973 and 1989, received its Royal title in 1995, was renovated by Kyle Phillips in 2015 and hosted the Women’s Spanish Open in 2023. It is a members’ club of around 1,100 members.

Los Naranjos

Another Robert Trent Jones course, opened in 1977 at the heart of the Golf Valley.
