How the night runs, where to go and how VIP tables work
By Live Love Marbella · Updated 18 October 2026
When the sun goes down, Puerto Banús becomes Marbella’s busiest night out. Rooftop bars fill up for sundowners, dinner runs late, and the clubs around the port keep going until the early hours.
This guide explains how a night out in Puerto Banús works: how the evening actually runs, the rooftops and clubs we book most, and how VIP tables work. To compare venues and book, see our Marbella nightlife collection; for dinner first, browse our Marbella restaurants.

How it works
How a night in the port runs
Spanish evenings start late, and Banús is later still. A typical night begins with a drink on a rooftop at sunset, moves to dinner on the quay or a few streets back, and only heads to the clubs after midnight.
If you are new to the port, our Puerto Banús guide explains the layout, from the yachts on the Benabolá quay to the streets behind the marina.

How to get a VIP table
A VIP table gives your group its own space, bottle service and, crucially, a guaranteed way in on the busiest nights. Clubs set a minimum spend per table that changes with the night, the season and the size of the group, so prices are on request.
Book a few days ahead for weekends in July and August, and on event nights. Tell us how many people, the night and the kind of music you like, and we confirm the table and the minimum spend in writing. A future guide to VIP tables in Marbella will go into more detail.

Insider tips
Tips for a great night in Banús
- Eat late, go out later. Clubs are quiet before midnight.
- Dress up. Smart for dinner, sharper for clubs; beachwear stays at the beach.
- Book the table, not just the door. On peak nights a reservation is the reliable way in.
- Bring ID. Clubs check it at the door.
- Arrange the ride home. Taxis queue at closing time; a driver is easier.
